About
How Did it Start?
I’ve been writing from a young age. It’s what I do, it’s part of what I am. For me there is no medium more beautiful than the English language. I’ve been reading for years and writing a book was only a natural progression. I’ve been meaning to write a book for ages and this is the outcome. Posting each week is a way of forcing myself to write frequently. As a few writers once said,
‘The hard part is getting to the top of page 1′. — Tom Stoppard
Well nah Tom: I have.
‘There is no rule on how to write. Sometimes it comes easily and perfectly: sometimes it’s like drilling rock and then blasting it out with charges’. — Ernest Hemingway
More like blasting it out with nuclear weapons.
‘I always stopped when I knew what was going to happen next. That way I could be sure of going on the next day’. — Ernest Hemingway
Good point. (04/11/06 I got up at 3am ‘cos I had an idea for this novel)
I think I have a severe quote obsession. All the best writing quotes can be found here.
How I Write
The writing of this blog is kind of informal. It started with an idea (well several months of ideas) and sort of grew in my head. I don’t have a step by step plan for this novel; I’m giving my mind freedom to grow. I post each Saturday which gives me time to brew an idea for the next chapter during the week. When I put hand to keyboard I just let it flow staright from my head. The end result is unrestrained imagination, albeit with spell-checking and minor editing.
Enjoy.

Every writer has his influences and mine are as curious as anyone’s. I’d like to thank the people who have inspired me to write.
